“Youtube is a video-sharing website on which users can upload, share, and view videos. Three former PayPal employees created YouTube in February 2005.” (Wikipedia) Who knew that the website that was previously famous for tweens singing Hannah Montana, and funny films of your grandma and her poodle, would now be used in local, national and international businesses?

By word of mouth you’ll hear all potential good or bad things about anything and anyone. The company I’m going to use for is example is Comcast Cable, Internet and Phone. The same way with all products, you’re going to hear the good, the bad and the ugly. By throwing today’s technologies into it you can also watch the good, the bad and the ugly. For example, on Youtube you can watch commercials for Comcast.

The Good: Comcast can reach out to the customers

But, by searching “Comcast” you will also find The Bad: Customer’s reach out to Comcast:

And… The Ugly.

While every product on the line will be offered all kinds of ups and downs, some websites allow more opportunity for ups, while some promote downs. On the Comcast website, it is all about how great Comcast is. On the website we’re discussing, Youtube, the majority is NOT promoting Comcast Cable, Internet and Phone. Yes, it does make things easy for the customer when they can go to a popular social site and view the newest funny commercials advertising the latest products. But, Youtube also gives the customer a chance to speak back to the company at hand and express their disapproval or gratitude with their services.
